ARRRmagedonnnnn

It's the end of the world as we know it!!!! And you know what that means....ARMAGEDDON!!!! Last weekend was QUITE eventfull, as you guys know from my previous post I went to the show. The following day I had Armageddon, for you guys who don't know what armageddon is, it's a cool event where people can dress up in cos play, meet awesome sci-fi celebrities from movies and series, buy amazing Sci-fi merchandise, play games and just have a jolly good time.

As I have been a pretty busy girl at the moment doing creative stuff you will soon find out about :) I had no time to make a costume. However I was originally planing to go as Princess Leia from Star Wars. One day it's gonna happen guys! Being as the day was very hot this is the look I came up with. What better atmosphere was there then Armageddon to witness my Snow White dress with Cat heads!!! To give it a slight anime cross between Harajuku girl look I matched it with classic white tee-bars mixed with white and yellow polka dot socks to tie into cat snow whites dress. Accessorised with my favourite white oversized 60's sunnies and vintage white bag. It was a outfit set to give me a stylish but still nerdy look which you guys now no I am :)

The day began with a casual run in with Queen Amedala, followed by being held up by storm troopers and a not so awkward hug with Darth Vader. Things were going rather swell so far.

I quite enjoyed the elderly Biff chilling in the time machine and the statues of the mask. My Favourite dress ups would have to be Breaking Bad- Walter White and Wayne and Garth from Wayne's World. Absolutely loved them!!!!

The one great thing about ARMAGEDDON was the merchandise. So much Star Wars memorabilia, I was in heaven!!! From loads of comic books, bobble heads, plush toys, dolls and drawings plus many more things, they had it all.

I was even lucky enough to have meet Pippin from Lord Of The Rings. Such a babe!!! The day was exhausting I left with a Star Wars lunch box, Vintage Indiana Jones and a Batman bobble head. Just as I thought the day was a success until next year. But next time for sure I shall dress up.

I leave you with the message as a major Star Wars fan

"May the force be with you"

It's SHOW time !!!

It comes a time in special small towns where an exciting event is held for the towns folk to enjoy. There are laughs, many smiles and bellies full of cotton candy. This magical event is called a Show/Carnival. Growing up in a small town since there isn't as much to do, but when an event like this comes about you just have to go. When I was older enough as a child to go to the show, my family began the tradition of attending the great Geelong show. As a child I'd love looking at all the animals, getting my face painted, eating corn dogs, riding the merry go round, jumping on the jump castle and how can I forget the show bags!!! They were filled with delicious  treats, fun knick knacks and all sort of costumes which I loved. Not much has changed now being a 21 year old so maybe I'm not a big fan of the animals but I do love CORN DOGS!!

The day was beautiful, nice and sunny. I wore a vintage shirt tired up with a cute thrift store netball skirt. To top off the look I felt like it was a jelly shoes type of day which went well with my smiley face 666 backpack which I'm in love with and my 90's shades.

Theres just something magical when it comes to rides. Not sure if it's the house of mirrors that make you look from big to small, the fun house that leads you to a rotating tunnel to a pit full of colourful balls or the clowns that want you to fill them with balls and the ducks you have to decide between which will give you the giant bears. It"s all full of excitement and adventure.

I was lucky enough to take a ride of the Ali Baba. The ride swings you around in the air like a rotating clock. Having eaten a corn dog right before I went on wasn't the best idea and having a slight occasional fear of heights didn't mix well together. Could have almost lead to disaster but I survived haha!!

As I continue to grow old. The show I feel will grow as I do. Being a tradition in my family for many years it has very well become a tradition of my own. I shall continue to attend until I'm grey and old in which ever country or town I'm in at the time.

So remember adventure is not inside the man, it is within, so create some adventure of your own and follow your traditions on magical journey to your wonderland.

The era of the 90's

For quite sometime in the year of 2013, it has been brought to my attention the trends of the generation Y we call the 90's are back on the market. From the famous halter neck to the sheer appearance of mesh , this year we are prone to notice these fashion styles on the street. All though you could say the 90's always do tend to be in as the famous grunge  trend is just the way of life and the way youngsters feel to express there emotional anguish or even happiness. Well we talk about the so called trends, lets reminisce about the hit 90's shows that gave us the inspiration to dress they way we did, talk the way and even think the way they did.

From Clueless, Daria, The nanny, 10 things I hate about you and Save by the Bell we were lucky enough to have such rad shows to get us through the 90's school days. As Cat Steven say "remember the days of the old school yard we use to laugh a lot, don't you remember the days of the old school yard".

Clueless was and is one of my favourite movies, the fashion I just loved. I just adored Cher's Yellow suit, that when I went to China two years ago I had one made exactly alike.
I call it my Clueless suit, you'll see me wearing it in post to come here is a
sneak peak

The Nanny what I'd do to have her entire wardrobe seriously its amazing the colour, the vintage, the designer oh my lord its just not fair!!!!!

OH........ and we can't forget the famous girls that everyone wanted to be included my self, we even played them in primary school. THE SPICE GIRLS. I'm sure I wasn't the only one who played that game, every one wanted to be Baby Spice.

Well what can I say about the 90's, it was a rad era known for it's neon colours, leggings, the sporty look, mesh, halter necks and the famous grunge era. It has always been a trend. Although even more so  in the year twenty thirteen which has brought it forward, its been an inspiration for many designers/ label's. I shall continue to wear it when I like and dress to what era best depicts my mood and occasion.

I bid you farewell with a quote from the great Kurt Cobain

"Were so trendy we can't even escape ourselves"
